Jeanne Panek is part writer, part wilderness junkie, and part forest ecologist. Her writing links nature with adventure, to inspire the explorer in all of us. Her published work includes pieces in Leading Out (a women’s mountaineering anthology), Manzanita, Cross-country Skier, youth pieces in Muse and Fiction in the Classroom, as well as many smaller publications translating science for non-science readers. She’s a well-published research ecologist, with a PhD in forest physiology. When she’s not in the mountains, she’s in Berkeley, CA.
